“That’s not what it looks like—” he said.

My voice didn’t shake.
“My dad hired a private investigator after you proposed. He didn’t trust you.”
I stepped closer.
“But after you disappeared… and I lost our baby… he gave me these.”
Phones came out. People started recording.
“You said you needed space,” I continued.
I pointed at a photo.
“That was taken three days after you left me.”
Wren turned to me, shaken.
“You never told me…”
Then she turned to him.
“How many times have you done this?”
He said nothing.
“I tracked the other woman down,” I said.
“She thought she was the only one too.”
Silence.
Then Wren looked at me.
“Thank you for telling me.”
She turned to Callum.
“You don’t get to build something new without fixing what you broke.”

The room froze.
“I wanted you to feel what it’s like to be lied to.”
I stared at her.
