The staffer responded with another signal, which appeared to be passed along behind the curtain. In a slowed-down clip circulating online, a hand can even be seen reaching out from behind the curtain, seemingly interacting with another agent.
So what was actually happening?
The truth is, no one knows for sure—and that uncertainty has fueled online theories.
A popular social media account, Matt Wallace, helped ignite the discussion by posting: “Did anyone else catch that signal?”
