Their real breakthrough came in 2005, when Disney Channel cast them in the sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. The show, which ran until 2008, starred Dylan as Zack and Cole as Cody, mischievous twin brothers living in a luxury hotel with their mother. The series was an enormous success with children and preteens, catapulting the twins into international fame.
The franchise expanded into The Suite Life on Deck (2008–2011), a spinoff that followed the brothers on a cruise ship. This continuation became one of the most popular Disney Channel shows of its time and cemented the Sprouse twins as household names.
Life Beyond Disney
Unlike some child stars who struggled to move beyond their early image, Dylan and Cole made a deliberate decision to step away from the spotlight at the peak of their Disney fame. After The Suite Life on Deck ended in 2011, the twins enrolled at New York University to pursue higher education.

After graduating, Cole returned to acting, securing a lead role in the CW drama Riverdale (2017–2023), in which he played Jughead Jones. The dark, modern reimagining of Archie Comics introduced him to an entirely new audience, making him a favorite among young adults.
Beyond acting, Cole has developed a reputation as a talented photographer. His work has been published in respected outlets such as The Sunday Times and Teen Vogue. This creative pursuit highlights his ability to branch out beyond the roles that first made him famous.
