Just like that.
No investigation. No questions.
They believed him because he had money.
I left humiliated—but not defeated.
That night, I sat at home, staring at my laptop. The ring. His behavior. Something wasn’t right.
I searched his name—D. Williams.
I found his wife. Elegant, kind-looking. Charity events. Fancy life.
And in every photo—she wore the same ring.
I knew what I had to do.
I messaged her:
“Hi, I’m a housekeeper at the hotel your husband is staying in. I think something’s going on. I found his wedding ring in his room, and he’s been with different women every night.”
Two days later, she showed up.
“Are you the one who messaged me?” she asked.
“Yes. You need to see this.”
We walked into the hotel together. My heart pounded.
Outside Room 805, we heard voices—his, and another woman’s.
I knocked.
The door opened—and his face went pale.
“Daniel,” his wife said, trembling with rage. “Who is this?”
The other woman fled. He stammered.
Too late.
“I’m done,” she said. “You’ve been living off my family’s money. We’re finished.”
I pointed to his wrist.
“Funny how you’re wearing the watch you accused me of stealing.”
The next morning, the manager called me back.
He apologized.
Offered me my job back.
I accepted—but I knew I wouldn’t stay.
A few days later, my phone rang.
“Mia,” his wife said. “Thank you. I could use someone like you—smart, loyal, tough. How would you feel about being my personal assistant?”
I was stunned.
“Me?”
“I trust you.”
I paused.
“I’m in.”
